Psychiatry is another IMG friendly specialty that like Pediatrics and Family medicine requires the applicant to show genuine interest in order to get good interviews and match in a decent program. Applicants frequently apply for Psychiatry as a back up specialty and that is just a waste of their money if their CV does not show any evidence of previous psychiatry training.
