Here is my story with step1,
I started studying while waiting for step2 cs result and was working in research too, so I was not really in a good condition to study. Started with physiology around Jan 2010 but wasn't going in a good pace. After my score came out and I was done with my research job got busy a little with some personal stuff for a while, so you can say I started my studying around May 2010. by that time was done with only half physiology.
Materials used:
1-Physiology kaplan 1 time then only FA and UW in addition to only notes I took after the endocrinology section in kaplan lectures.
2-Biochemstry Kaplan 1time then only FA+UW notes
3-Microbiology only FA+UW
4-Behavioral science 1 time from kaplan. then only FA+UW only in the morning of the exam day read the 20 rules in ethics section and the rules of physician patient relationship.
5-Pathology: listened to Goljan audios and read the word by word transcript of his lectures only. then revised couple of systems in it then only FA+UW( I advise you to listen to his audios)
6- Pharmacology: Only FA and UW
7-Immunology: only FA+UW
8-Anatomy: FA+UW+ Neuroanatomy from Kaplan+ Kaplan Qbank anatomy questions( went through 80% of them)
The key is after you study every subject from those once. do a quick revision on FA from side to side then start UW for 2 months with taking notes of every question. after you are done with this, revise FA and UW notes again then take one NBME test to see where do you stand. then revise FA+UW again then take another NBME to make sure you are in that level if you got a good score in the second NBME then go for the BIG exam after you revise FA+UW another more time.
PS:Of course if you found in the NBME assessment that you are weak in certain subject, then try to brush up a little bit on it( to be honest I scored borderline in couple of sections but wasn't really low to scare me so I didn't do anything extra as my NBMEs were 231 in NBME form 6(2 weeks out) and NBME form 7(6 days out) was 234, and I was satisfied with that).

That was it I think for me and this exam. I hope you all the best.
Sincerely,
Mohamed Hegazi.
