My step 2 CS experienceIn the name of God
Hi guys, I just took step 2CS and I pass it ‘thanks God’ thought it would be a good idea to share my experience.
I take Step 2 CK before my CS exam by 2 months.
I prepared for step 2CS in 6 weeks, 3 weeks collecting the material and 3 weeks in practice only.First 3 weeks in collecting the materials from the internet, hearing or reading the other’s experiences, sitting with friends that pass the exam and writing their notes that they wrote and decide to make my own paper to ask the patient through it. I read First aid (how to ask the questions, patient encounter, challenging questions, DDs) for once. About the cases in the first aid it is the main cobble stone in the book, I still practice on them in the last 3 weeks a lot of times. In the last 3 weeks, I put my self as in the exam I put my stop watch to finish my encounter in 12 minutes, to save time for patient note because I not too fast in writing, my sister help me on practice(it is important to have person to practice on him).About physical exam and how to ask questions I register on the csevideo site for 15 days and do as she done exactly (it was very helpful for me)About practice on the PN, I wrote all the first aid PNs, every day I try to write 5 cases as fast as I can.On my experience on passing the exam my advice is:• Practice, practice and practice• Don’t panic and be self confidence• If you do bad in the first 2 cases continue don’t be sad that is normal• Try not to shut your mouth, just talk with the patient with any thing• If you forget your questions ask the other questions and continue don’t stop• Try to listen to the patient until he stop talking• If the time out and they open the door to get you out don’t worry it happen with me once• Write only what you done on examination no more(don’t fake)Thank you and hope success for all.
